ISO 14001 Related Training: Implementation Training
With Strata’s ISO 14001 Implementation Training Program, our instructor comes to your facility to train your EMS implementation team and help you jump-start the implementation process. You schedule attendance of as many members of your implementation team as you feel necessary - your facility management and EMS team can attend only those lectures, sessions, and workshops that directly effect their participation in the EMS. All course material and workshops are geared to your facility. Workshops on Policy Statements serve to create a Policy Statement for your facility; workshops on aspects/impacts/objectives/targets would involve identifying those for your facility. This program can also be combined with a 2-day Gap Analysis to help you lay out your entire implementation schedule and strategy. Legal Requirements and Compliance Evaluation
Section 4.3.2 of the ISO 14001 Standard requires a procedure for identifying legal, regulatory and other requirements. Section 4.5.1 of the standard requires a procedure for evaluating compliance with those requirements. In order to assist companies in conforming to these requirements, Strata Environmental has developed a comprehensive Legal Requirements and Compliance Evaluation. This assessment includes identification of all environmental laws and regulations to which your operation is subject and an evaluation of your compliance with those regulations. The scope of the assessment includes federal, state and local requirements including specific permit requirements. Gap Analysis and Implementation Planning
The purpose of an ISO 14001 Gap Analysis is to compare a company’s environmental management system against the ISO 14001 requirements to determine the extent to which the company’s existing program conforms to the standard. Elements of other management systems (such as ISO 9000) are identified and, if appropriate, evaluated to determine what is required to incorporate them into the ISO 14001 EMS. Gap Analysis is an excellent tool for identifying the necessary steps to attain conformance with the ISO 14001 standard and is the first step in developing an implementation schedule. Conducting a Gap Analysis is similar to conducting a scaled down ISO 14001 registration audit and normally takes 2 on-site days with a detailed report provided within 10 working days. EMS General Awareness Training (GAT) Program
In order to help companies communicate EMS information to their employees and to meet some of the training requirements of ISO 14001, Strata Environmental has developed a template for a customizable EMS General Awareness Training (GAT) Program. This training program can be easily customized to your specific requirements either by Strata Environmental or by you. The material can be covered in a group meeting (such as a weekly safety meeting) or through self directed study. It is designed to take an average employee less that ½ hour to become familiar with the material. The program includes a short 1-page questionnaire at the end to provide a record of the training.
